Glassic Model A Replica Reunion 2008

A non-refundable fee of $20 per reunion attendee (no charge for spouse, roommate, or companion) is payable to The Annexmaster. 100% of those fees will be spent on the group at the reunion. The fee is your show of good faith and so we can do something nice for ourselves during the reunion. If you are not able to attend and want to "be there in thought", send in the fee and we will honor your spiritual attendance!

Drop-ins are welcome, and the $20 fee will be collected at the time you join us.

or by credit card using PayPal by clicking the "Donate" button below. On the left side of the PayPal screen is a provision for paying by credit card without opening a PayPal account. It says "continue" near the little pictures of credit card types.

Stay somewhere else? Fine! If you have a "frequent sleeper" plan, etc. or if you want to drive in each day from nearby. More interaction with other owners is likely if you stay with us, but staying there is in no way required. The "fee" is required, however.

1/20/08 --The Annexmaster (me) changed my reservation from arriving Wed. to arriving Thursday.

Joel, the car builder, will be at the reunion from Saturday noon-ish to Sunday noon, so changed the tentative itinerary below.

11/11/03 -- The Orlando Amerisuites that we had loved so much before has changed owners raised their room rates plus they wanted us to pay for the meeting room. They have been eliminated from consideration. The Marriott is brand new and will make a meeting room available with no charge the whole time of the reunion.

NOTE:

I, Don, will be paying for my own room. No "comp sleeping rooms" are in the contract with the hotel.

IMPORTANT: People must realize that it is absolutely optional whether they bring their replica. It will be almost as much fun if your drive your boring car and bring pictures of your Collectible..

This is a brand new Marriott, located a mile from the Orlando Airport and two blocks from where we had our previous reunions. It is a suites-type hotel with lots of great features! Breakfast buffet, high speed wireless internet and free airport shuttle are just some of them!

You must reserve your room directly through the hotel at the above phone number, mentioning the rate code GCR for the group "Glassic Car Reunion". The DEADLINE to be assured of this rate is July 8, 2008. After that, the rate could be higher and it depends on their availability.

The available room types are "studio suites" with your choice of one king bed or two queen beds.

Your credit card will not be charged now (unlike some of those "discount" web sites) and you can cancel up to 24 hours prior to the start of your stay.

The "official" dates of the reunion are: arrive Thurs. 8/7, stay 3 nights and depart Sun. 8/10. -- However, our contract allows you to book up to two days before, and/or after those dates at the same $89 rate if you wish. That way you can include an Orlando vacation in your reunion visit!

Tentative Agenda (updated 12/12/07)

This agenda will remain "tentative" throughout. Our reunion agenda should be driven by what we WANT to do, and is subject to change by those attending to suit the group desires and priorities. Nothing is carved in stone!

Thursday afternoon -- Arrival, check-in, get acquainted. (a hotel meeting room will be at our disposal)

Thursday evening -- Cruise to a fast food outlet or local cruise-in.

Friday morning -- Tire kicking after breakfast - "show and tell" in the parking lot.

Tour in our cars around Orlando to an interesting location for lunch. (Each person pays for his/her own lunch.)

Friday afternoon -- A presentation by Bill Crozier, his brother and son on the Chevy V-8 swaps they made into two International based Glassics. -- Details of the swap, problems encountered etc. will all be discussed.

The owners list -- I am not keeping "history" of a car, just the current owner. What is a "registry"?

Saturday afternoon -- Meet with Joel - question and answer session.

Joel is the "founding father" of the Glassic and Replicars corporations and is a fountain of technical information that he is willing to share. He has an outstanding memory and is an interesting and personable gentleman.

Saturday evening: Take a road trip, possibly order in a mini-banquet, or attend a car show

Everyone is invited! This is NOT just for Glassic or Shay owners. Anyone who is interested can attend - whether you are thinking of buying one, selling one, or just curious. You absolutely do NOT need to bring your Glassic or Shay-- it would be fun if you could, but not at all required. The hotel is near Disney World.

You do NOT have to stay at the hotel to participate in activities. Other than the non-refundable $ 20 sign-up fee, there are no other costs charged by the Annex, or Reunion unless the participants vote to "go in on" pizza or carry-in food, or soft drinks, etc. Breakfast is included by the hotel, but other meals are up to each individual.
