Glassic Car Reunion

Orlando, Florida

8/7/08, Fri. 8/8/08,
 Sat. 8/9/08

The Glassic car reunion, planned for the "easy-to-remember" date of
8-8-08, was canceled since there were not enough reservations
at the hotel.

While it would have been nice to have had all 300+ known cars at
the reunion, the facts of high gas prices, a shaky economy and
the difficulty in making long trips in a Glassic kept us from
meeting in person.

We can continue to meet on line, where we can visit each other, and
see each other's cars without spilling a drop of gas!

One of the events planned for the reunion had been to present a
plaque to Joel Faircloth.

Joel is the builder of most of the Glassics
in the 60's, 70's and early 80's. He has supported us owners even
now, years later by recalling what he can of how the cars were
put together, and sharing his knowledge.

I mailed the plaque to Joel, to arrive on the day that it
would have been presented.

Here is a picture of Joel from the 2004 reunion!

Joel has touched all of us "Glassic nuts" in a special way.

(Yes, this is the BEST quality photo I had in the batch. Yikes!)
